Enriched Air Nitrox

Click here for full class schedule

Have you ever dreamed of having longer no-decompression limits to take pictures or explore a wreck? Did you ever want to be safer while diving concerning the potential risk of decompression sickness? Nitrox is the key. Due to the reduced fraction of nitrogen in your breathing gas, your body will have less work and the desaturation times will be reduced.

In your Enriched Air Nitrox program you will learn all the necessary rules for planning dives with Nitrox and using Nitrox in a safe way. An important key point in the entire program is analyzing your own tank prior to any Nitrox dive. “Nitrox for free“ is a slogan in a lot of resorts. This means that you do not have to pay a surcharge for Nitrox, but all diving operators will want to see a valid Nitrox certificate before you can dive.

Enriched Air Nitrox contains optional dives and therefore it is a perfect “Winter Specialty” before your diving holiday starts. This will allow you to go diving immediately and enjoy the advantages of diving with Nitrox. If you want to learn more about Enriched Air Nitrox, you can buy the manual or the DVD even if you don’t want to sign up for the course.

Oxygen First Aid

Click here for full class schedule

When a diving accident occurs, being able to recognize the problem and respond with the appropriate care can speed the diver’s recovery and minimize lasting effects. Oxygen first aid provides needed oxygen to body tissues, enhances the elimination of inert gases such as nitrogen obtained from breathing gases, and helps shrink any gas bubbles that may have developed during ascent — bubbles that contribute to decompression sickness and arterial gas embolism. Supplemental oxygen also can help minimize or eliminate existing symptoms and reduce further injury until medical services are engaged.

BLS consists of several First Aid techniques that support (or might restore) life. At the end of the course the DAN BLS provider will be able to recognize an emergency, activate the EMS and provide early BLS, while waiting for an AED or Advanced Life Support to arrive at the scene of the accident. Early access to the EMS and early BLS are 2 of the 4 links in the chain of survival.
